Technical description Renault 16 TS 1968 CAMSHAFT The camshaft, put into move by a double time chain, is placed rather high in the engine. The tappets are directly drilled into the aluminium housing. A double-shielded box cover that has inner souddamping material is covering the steel rocker gear. It makes the engine pleasantly quiet and its few weight spent on the total valve control mechanism makes the engine rather sound like a turbine than like an Otto engine.
